The Headwaters SWCD provides the opportunity to apply for an educational scholarship for students interested in furthering their education in a field related to natural resources.
The Scholarship guidelines/criteria allow full-time students who have applied to a college undergraduate level curriculum to apply for the Scholarship Program.
These scholarships are offered to graduating high school students as well as college students.
Preference may be given to applicants who have not previously received a scholarship.
Recipients are selected based on various criteria including: academic achievement, school and community involvement, interest in natural resources conservation, as well as financial need.
The District screens applications and selects one application to forward on to the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) for consideration for one of the available VASWCD Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarships.
