Do you know students who are interested in natural resources?
Please consider nominating them to attend Holiday Lake Forestry Camp, held in June at Holiday Lake 4-H Center near Appomattox.
This residential camp immerses students in field-based learning and introduces them to careers in forestry, wildlife, and related fields.
Forestry Camp is open to Virginia residents aged 13-16 who have not attended before. Nominations can be made by any non-related adult and are accepted Jan. 1-April 1.
See http://dof.virginia.gov/forestry/camp/ for forms and information.
The Virginia Department of Forestry, in cooperation with natural resource conservation agencies and organizations, has proudly administered Holiday Lake Forestry Camp for more than 60 years.
This unique camping experience has introduced young Virginians to the challenges, special skills and knowledge needed for managing the forest resources we use and enjoy every day.
Holiday Lake Forestry Camp is ideal for students:
- to explore and experience activities in forestry and wildlife related careers
- who participate in forestry and wildlife judging teams, Envirothon competitions, or ecology clubs
- to experience hands on learning about natural resources conservation
Camp is held June 19 – 24, 2017.
Camp is open to any Virginia girl or boy aged 13 to 16, who has an interest in natural resources and who had not attended before.
